Turner Entertainment is an American entertainment company owned by Warner Bros.

On March 25, 1986, the company purchased Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. However, due to financial concerns, he was forced to sell it back on August 26, 1986. However, Turner was allowed to keep MGM's film and television library, as well as some United Artists films, thus forming Turner Entertainment Company. These included the pre-1950 Warner Bros. movies, the Fleischer and Famous Studios-produced Popeye cartoons, and the shorts produced by MGM's cartoon department starring characters such as Bosko, Tom and Jerry, and Droopy.

On October 10, 1996, Time Warner purchased Turner Entertainment.
