Notes[]
- The series accounts for most of the Tom and Jerry filmography. Early releases were issued with edited versions of some shorts and with the exception of the third volume, replacements were issued with unedited versions of the shorts.
- Many of these cartoons are not "restored" or "remastered", particularly in the first volume.
- The short His Mouse Friday (1951) is included on volume three in an edited format.
- Two shorts, Mouse Cleaning (1948) and Casanova Cat (1951) were omitted completely from the collection.
Successors[]
In 2011, the Tom and Jerry Golden Collection was released on DVD and Blu-ray with the intent to collect the 161 theatrical Tom and Jerry cartoon shorts released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in chronological order and uncensored. Only one volume is released, with the second volume being scrapped.
