Notes[]

  • This is the final Barney Bear cartoon directed by George Gordon, as well as the final cartoon he directed in-house. Although Michael Lah finished directing the cartoon after Gordon left the studio, his unit was subsequently disposed of, resulting in the cartoon studio having only two units operating.
  • This is the first Barney Bear short where the series was given a distinct opening theme, as well as a title card with Barney's head. The theme would be used until Goggle Fishing Bear in 1949, then replaced with a new one in 1952 when Dick Lundy took over the series.
  • This is the second of two Barney Bear cartoons written by Webb Smith.
  • When Barney returns to his house, he is reading a book titled Red Hot Riding Hood, a reference to the Tex Avery short of the same name.
  • Tex Avery would later reuse the design of the skunk in the 1948 short Little 'Tinker.
