Red Hot Rangers is 1947 George and Junior short directed by Tex Avery.

Plot[]

In a national park named Jello-Stone (Parody of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming) "No Smoking" and "No Vacancy" signs are located almost everywhere, but this doesn't stop one man in particular, who grabs out a cigarette and smokes. He carelessly throws the cigarette out of his car which burns a leaf and soon after creates an anthropomorphic flame, the flame smashes the leaf with "Help Prevent Fires" and "No Smoking" signs, which resembles a sandwich. The flame eats it, then eats a small tree, before burning down a bigger tree. The flame then reports on itself to the rangers (George and Junior) the two bears are resting until the phone interrupts them, Junior gives George the phone, when George receives word from the flame about the fire it caused, he stumbles on it for a bit before realizing and shouting "FOREST FIRE?!?!?!?!"

George and Junior quickly move away from their (skyscraper-sized) stations and drive to the scene in a fire truck, and George is ready to exterminate the Flame with a hose, but when they get there, George realizes that Junior didn't plug in the hose, so Junior runs all the way back to the station and plugs it into a faucet, then runs all the way back, because of Jr's stupidity, he forgot to turn the knobs on, so Junior runs all the way back to the station yet again and George can finally end the flame, but then the hose goes crazy and flings George into the air, Junior retrieves George via Rope but then George gets stuck in the rope. Junior gets George outta there by grabbing his nose, this leads to a "Bend over, Junior" gag.

After George punishes him, the flame is running away, and now George has to tell Junior to screw a nozzle on the hose. Junior accidentally screws the nozzle on George's nose, making his nose pointy. George punishes Junior again, and they spot the flame again. The flame dives into a hole, George believes that they have entrapped the flame and needs Junior to grab the hose and extinguish the flame while it's still in the hole. Junior only grabs the nozzle, George explains logic to Junior that there's no way Junior can get water if the nozzle isn't connected to a hose, but considering this is a Tex Avery cartoon Junior is able to do this anyway, unfortunately this pushes George into the hole, setting his rear end on fire.

George yaps for a bucket of water, but Junior (being the idiot) gets the gasoline bucket, George sits on it unknowingly, and his rear end explodes, his hat briefly catches on fire, but Junior puts it out by hitting George's head with a shovel, which leaves to him being punished again. The flame fancily walks away victoriously, but then George traps him with a container, and orders that when he lifts it up, Junior has to grab it (and obviously hose him)

But the flame acquires a stick of dynamite, and lights it up behind their backs. George lifts it and Junior grabs it immediately before George can see what it is, Junior does not know that it is a bomb either and shows it to George, which blows up in his face (resulting in another punishment).
