Dark Horse Comics is an American comic book and graphic novel publisher, released a series of tribute comics to Tex Avery's MGM cartoons in the mid-1990s. This was in addition to their other notable titles such as Sin City, Hellboy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 300, Ninja Gaiden, and Star Wars.

In 1986, Mike Richardson founded Dark Horse Comics in Milwaukie, Oregon, using funds earned from his Pegasus Books chain of comic book shops, established in 1980. The company has grown to become the fourth largest comic publisher in the United States, promoting artistic and creative rights, and publishing licensed material that often does not fit mainstream media.
